Ordinary Japanese Dictionary · App Store · effective 26 June 2026 · other versions

This app works offline. Your queries, opened words and history never leave your device. There is no sign-up and no ads; the advertising identifier (IDFA) and tracking (ATT) are not used, and neither is precise location. The only thing sent over the network is anonymous usage statistics.

What we don't collect

  • your query text, opened words and translations;
  • your history (it stays on the device);
  • your name, email or account;
  • the advertising identifier (IDFA) — no tracking (ATT);
  • precise (GPS) location.

What is sent

Anonymous usage events — the action, but not its content (for example: the script of a query, its length, the number of results — never the text itself). Together with standard technical data (app and OS version, device model, country derived from IP) and an anonymous per-service identifier that is not linked to your identity. Plus crash reports. For attribution of paid installs, AppsFlyer is used — without IDFA and without ATT (via Apple Search Ads / AdServices).

Services

Processed in the USA, each under its own privacy policy: Amplitude and PostHog — statistics, Sentry — crashes, AppsFlyer — install attribution.

Permissions

Microphone — only for voice input; camera — only for text recognition from a photo (OCR); files — when importing a dictionary or exporting history; network — for statistics and external links. Voice input uses the built-in iOS recogniser; external links open in your browser only when you tap them.

Contact

You can clear your history and remove the app along with all local data. Questions: notononoto@gmail.com. Changes to this policy are published on this page.
